How to Keep a New Year’s Resolution

Happy New Year!
It is a cliché to make a New Year’s resolution, but it’s the perfect time to change your habits to be healthier and happier.  It doesn’t have to be a grand resolution.  Whatmatters most is that you are able to keeit, not for a week or a month, but possibly forever.

I was thinking about my own experiences when I was able to commit to what I decided to do.  Almost always, it wasnot for my own sake, but for somebody else.  If you make a resolution just for yourself, you can easily give yourself excuses not to keep it.  Even if you make the same resolution, if you do it for somebody else, being aware of how your decision benefits other people, it would be a totally different experience.  For example, if you decide to get fit for your family because doing exercises improves the mood and reduces stress, which means you will be happier around your family, you willmost likely stick to your resolutionThey will be excitedand support you, and they might also follow suit. Above all, doing for somebody else gives you joy and confidence.

I hope you will find something to change not just for yourself, but for everybody around you.
